Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Bookkeeper to join our expanding team. This role demands precision and thoroughness in maintaining flawless financial records across our growing portfolio of managed properties. We are seeking a professional who takes pride in accuracy and understands that even minor errors can have significant consequences for our clients and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
● Maintain accurate books and records for multiple property management accounts. These accounts adhere to a “cash based” accounting method but your knowledge in accrual accounting is also an asset.
● Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
● Reconcile bank statements
● Prepare monthly financial reports for property owners
● Accurate Tenant Ledgers, handling tenant deposits, rent collections, and disbursements
● Assist with year-end tax preparation and audit support
● Ensure compliance with property management accounting standards
● Support month-end and year-end closing processes
● Maintain organized documentation and audit trails for all transactions
Required Qualifications
● 3+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience property management
● Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and tight deadlines
● Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
● Methodical approach to work with strong organizational and time management skills
● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
● Excellent communication skills for client interactions
● Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Highly Preferred Qualifications
●
AppFolio experience strongly preferred - candidates with AppFolio expertise will receive priority consideration
● Property management or real estate accounting background
● Experience with trust accounting and escrow management
● Familiarity with property management financial reporting (ex: Rent Rolls, Trust Account Balance, Budget Reports, Delinquency Reports)
● Experience working in high-accountability environments where precision is paramount
