Hours: Full-time - 5:30am - 1:30pm, IST Colombo time

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will report to the Payroll Manager and support the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery across clients. Your responsibilities will include monitoring payroll accuracy, tracking deadlines and compliance requirements, and maintaining strong client satisfaction throughout the process.
Your main responsibilities & experience:
- End to end processing of Payroll: Oversee and manage full-cycle payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines.
- Excellent Communication Skills: You are a strong communicator and are able to communicate effectively with employee pay inquiries, leave entitlements etc and ability to network & build relationships with stakeholders.
- Client Relationship & Performance Management : Organise and conduct regular client review meetings (monthly and quarterly) to evaluate payroll performance, service delivery standards, and compliance requirements. Address and resolve client queries and challenges, ensuring strong professional relationships and service excellence.
- Payroll Metrics, Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor client payroll health scores, tracking accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and client satisfaction metrics. Prepare and present periodic payroll performance reports to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer: Deliver hands-on training sessions and knowledge transfer programs for clients on payroll systems, legislative updates, and compliance practices. Recommend improvements to client payroll processes, system utilisation, and workflow automation.
What your profile will look like:
- Must have - Minimum 3+ years experience: Overall minimum 3+ years of experience as a mid-senior Payroll specialist, with at least 1+ years specifically working for an Australian company, is a must.
- Must have - strong communication skills: Fluent written & oral English skills is a must.
- Must Have – Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, modern awards, EBAs, and compliance requirements.
- Must Have – Strong Excel capabilities and experience working with cloud-based accounting systems are essential. High proficiency in major payroll platforms such as Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks is required, with experience in Employment Hero, ADP and Micropay considered an advantage.
- Must Have -Strong Internet connection: Fiber connectivity with a minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps is required
