Job Summary
The Front-End Developer will play a key role in building user-facing experiences across Allia Health Group’s digital platforms. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this role focuses on developing scalable, responsive, and accessible interfaces across web and mobile environments. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in React and React Native and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This role may be based in Madeira or remote within Portugal or a Portuguese-timezone–aligned region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and performant web and mobile applications using React and React Native
- Translate UI/UX designs from Figma or design systems into reusable, production-ready components
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless cross-platform functionality
- Contribute to and maintain shared front-end component libraries and design systems
- Implement automated unit and integration testing across web and mobile codebases
- Optimize application performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and agile sprint ceremonies
- Evaluate and implement best practices for cross-platform development and deployment
What We Require
- Minimum 3+ years of professional front-end development experience
- Strong proficiency in React, React Native, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience building and deploying mobile applications for iOS and Android
- Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
- Experience integrating RESTful and GraphQL API
- Familiarity with front-end build tools such as Vite, Webpack, or Metro
- Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Detox
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree in Software Development or related technical field
- Experience with Google Cloud, Looker, Vertex AI, UiPath, N8N, or similar tools
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, or adjacent technologie
- Experience working in healthcare, wellness, or regulated environments
- AWS experience is a plus
What We Offer
- Salary Range: €50,000–60,000 / $59,000–70,000 annually, depending on experience
