Job Summary
The Financial Analyst II position supports the MGB Pharmacy team through managing, reviewing and presenting all financial data related to the MGB Pharmacy department. These data include medication costs, salary expenses, revenue, and other operational expenses. The analyst will work closely with MGB pharmacy team members to monitor and review related data to ensure budget and financial targets are met throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities Include:
-Reviews, collects, and summarizes relevant pharmacy financial data for accuracy and clarity
-Partners with accounting team members to review, identify, and resolve discrepancies in monthly and annual pharmacy financial data
-Performs analyses as needed to review pharmacy data spend across MGB to look for discrepancies and trends
-Assists with budget monitoring and planning for pharmacy operations, capital, FTE's, and other expenses.
-Compiles and reviews historical financial data to support budgeting and planning questions.
-Reviews monthly close data for accuracy and reports out relevant discrepancies to leadership.
-Other duties as assigned
Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
Experience
Experience in accounting or finance 3-5 years required
Experience in a role within a large healthcare organization 3-5 years preferred
Experience with Strata or other budgeting tools preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills.
- Superior Excel Skills is required.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time.
- Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
