IT Support Specialist
The IT Support Specialist provides remote technical assistance to end users across the organization, supporting hardware, software, and cloud-based systems in a Microsoft 365 environment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to issue resolution. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of support requests, create clear documentation and knowledge base articles, and collaborate effectively with other departments.
This position operates in a dynamic and ever-evolving technology landscape. The successful candidate must be adaptable, curious, and committed to continuous learning—ready to explore new systems, tools, and processes as business needs change.
What You Will Do:
- Respond to and resolve support requests via Salesforce ticketing system, email, and other channels.
- Provide remote support for Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams management, including configuration, permissions, and troubleshooting.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle through Microsoft 365 administration in a hybrid on-prem/cloud Active Directory environment.
- Create and manage user accounts, group memberships, and licensing in Microsoft 365; conduct IT onboarding sessions for new hires.
- Offboard users following security best practices and document all activities.
- Create and manage Exchange Online mailboxes and distribution lists, ensuring proper configuration and access controls.
- Create and maintain SharePoint sites and permissions based on departmental needs and collaboration requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and HITRUST security requirements, including proper handling of access approvals and sensitive data.
- Troubleshoot issues related to VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, and endpoint protection software.
- Support additional applications such as RingCentral, Foxit, Dashlane, and other business tools.
- Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base articles using SharePoint, Viva Learning, and OneNote.
- Research complex issues independently and escalate when necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand business needs and provide effective IT solutions.
- Provide training and guidance to users on business applications and IT processes.
- Maintain accurate records of support activities and resolutions.
- Effectively manage time and set priorities to handle multiple tasks and support requests
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Microsoft 365 certification preferred.
- Experience with hybrid Active Directory environments.
- Security Framework awareness (SOC2, HITRUST, ISO)
- Experience with Salesforce or similar ticketing systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to create clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and changing environments.
