About the Client:
The client operates in the insurance space as a business to business intermediary between insurance carriers and independent writing agents. The focus of the business is relationship driven distribution, where insurance agents place their business through the client once trust and credibility are established. The company is in a growth phase and is looking to build its outbound sales and appointment setting function from the ground up.
About the Role:
We are hiring a part time Appointment Setter focused on outbound calling to insurance agents in a B2B environment. You will call from pre scrubbed lists, start the conversation using a clear script, and book a qualified appointment for Scott when there is interest. Once the appointment is set and the handoff is completed, you do not need to manage long term follow up with that same contact.
This is a role for someone confident on the phone who can handle objections, stay consistent, and communicate proactively with daily reporting. The ideal candidate is also open to learning and growing into additional responsibilities over time as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to targeted lists of licensed insurance agents based on provided criteria.
- Follow a script and adapt naturally in conversation without sounding robotic.
- Build quick rapport and confidently handle common objections and rejections.
- Qualify basic interest and confirm fit before booking time on the leadership calendar.
- Accurately log outcomes and notes for each call in a simple tracking system, spreadsheet, or CRM.
- Share daily and weekly reporting with clear numbers and insights.
- Provide feedback on what is working and suggest improvements to scripts and talk tracks.
- Maintain professional representation of the brand on every call.
Success Metrics and KPIs
- Calls placed per day and per week.
- Connect rate and meaningful conversations.
- Qualified appointments booked per week.
- Show rate of booked appointments.
- Quality of notes and data accuracy.
- Consistency and reliability across weeks.
Tools and Systems
- Power dialer and VOIP system (e.g., RingCentral).
- Tracking in a spreadsheet or a dedicated lightweight CRM.
- Calendar scheduling link for booking appointments.
- Optional CRM automations (future phase).
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven B2B cold calling or appointment setting experience, ideally with US-based prospects.
- Strong spoken English with a clear, confident phone presence.
- Comfortable handling objections, rejection, and high-volume dialing.
- Professional communication, reliable follow-through, and strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work without constant hand-holding.
- Stable internet, backup plan for connectivity, and a professional calling setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience calling insurance agents, financial services, or other professional B2B segments.
- Familiarity with CRMs, call logging, and basic reporting.
- Comfort using simple AI tools to refine scripts, improve messaging, and summarize daily outcomes.
