Job Description
We are looking for a Windows/Linux Systems Administrator eager to strengthen their technical expertise in server administration while gaining experience in virtualization and cloud operations.
You’ll work within a global delivery model, dedicated to a single international client, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of their infrastructure across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration (Windows):
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (VMs, AD, group policies, scheduled tasks, etc.).
System Administration (Linux):
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers.
Virtualization Management:
- Operate and maintain VMware vCenter infrastructure (VM lifecycle, snapshots, datastore monitoring).
Cloud Operations (AWS – Level 1 & 2):
- Monitor and support EC2 instances, S3 storage, IAM users/policies, and backup tasks.
Backup & Recovery:
- Ensure daily backups complete successfully and meet RPO/RTO objectives.
- Perform regular validation and restore tests when required.
Database Support (MSSQL – Level 1):
- Check blocked processes, refresh databases, manage user mappings, and run basic SQL queries.
On-Premises Operations:
- Coordinate with vendors and third parties for hardware replacement or maintenance (e.g., disk changes).
Monitoring & Incident Management:
- React to alerts from monitoring tools, perform initial analysis, escalate when needed, and maintain service continuity.
Documentation & CMDB:
- Keep system and configuration documentation up to date in the CMDB.
- Maintain clear procedures and operational logs for auditability.
ITSM Processes:
- Follow ITIL-based workflows for incident, problem, and change management.
- Contribute to service quality and continual improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Advanced English (written and spoken)
- 3+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure operations
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server administration
- Experience with VMware vCenter technologies
- Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, backups)
- Experience with MSSQL basic administration and query execution
- Familiar with backup management tools and concepts
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Centreon, Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Exposure to ITSM ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining up-to-date documentation
- Available to work at these hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00 am - 8:00 pm (Colombian time), nighttime payment
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation
- Familiarity with network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Exposure to cloud-native or DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Git)
- Experience with ITIL v4 frameworks or certification
