About the Opportunity
Location: Work is what you do, not where you go. For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in Germany.
Dayforce is seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes including validation, auditing, and completion of payroll activities. This role requires building strong client relationships, resolving employee and client queries within defined SLAs, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of German payroll legislation.
What You’ll Get to Do
- Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax and benefits, are processed, reconciled, audited, and delivered accurately and on time.
- Process payroll changes, payments, and payroll runs for assigned clients.
- Perform quality control and auditing to maintain high accuracy and low error rates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and employee inquiries.
- Provide HR and payroll support services in line with contractual, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Create, update, and review standard operating procedures, including quarterly documentation reviews.
- Take full ownership of deliverables and projects from initiation through completion.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and act on them.
Skills and Experience We Value
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in German payroll.
- Strong German and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience managing high-volume payroll environments (3,000+ employees).
- Ability to work directly with clients and resolve complex issues using critical thinking.
- Strong understanding of quality control and auditing standards.
- Up-to-date knowledge of German tax and social insurance regulations.
- Experience with German payroll systems such as LoGa, SAP, or Paisy.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, self-driven approach.
- Ability to collaborate globally with teams across Europe and North America.
What Would Make You Stand Out
- Experience working with collective bargaining agreements (Tarifverträge).
- Knowledge of SV.net.
- Experience with Dayforce or similar cloud-based payroll systems.
